VeloWerks

Brand development, execution, web design, and sales enablement template creation

Challenge

VeloWerks, a web and app development agency in San Francisco, was launching in 2016 and needed a brand built from the ground up. Being a startup, they needed efficient, ready to use templates that would help them build B2B sales collateral and pitch materials fast, without needing to invest on bespoke work for every new client pitch.

Together, we decided the best use of their marketing budget was to develop a streamlined brand book, website, and a suite of easy to use templates for pitch materials that could support the company through a few years of aggressive growth.

Strategic alignment

First, we partnered with VeloWerks to identify the types of clients their brand needed to engage successfully with. VeloWerks, being primarily a website and app development company, needed to have a strong, B2B forward brand that also maintained a “consumer” language.

There was also an approachable “California vibe” to the business, and the executives were avid cyclists, so we wanted to capture those aspects in the brand as well.

Creative brand exploration

Next, we conducted some light customer and audience research, which helped inform our design explorations. We developed three distinct design directions that were all aligned with our research finding and our strategic brief.

Design production and template development

Once we landed on a final art direction, we wrote and designed the new website, which embodied VeloWerks’ new brand. We also created templates for sales enablement and materking materials, as well as a streamlined brand guidelines document.

Results

The VeloWerks brand was well received, and the company grew quickly. Recently, VeloWerks was purchased by a larger agency who wanted to round out their development capabilities.
